Earlier this year I worked on a couple of illustrations for the publisher Santillana, a textbook and general-interest publishing group based in Spain and Latin America. I was asked to do two versions of a Paris street scene, for a large wall planner for 2015 and also for the cover of a School Agenda. We decided to make the wall planner version with a Summer feel and the cover to be more Autumnal.
Here they are. (Excuse the varying quality of the photos!)

Illustration for 'To This Day'
Here is my double page spread illustration from the recently released book To This Day, by Canadian spoken word poet Shane Koyczan. Illustrators were each given a verse from the poem and asked to interpret the text in their own unique visual style. The verse that I illustrated was about the main character being questioned at school about being bullied. Here's what I came up with:

Middlebury Magazine...
I recently had the pleasure of being able to do several illustrations for Middlebury Magazine, including the cover of the Summer issue which is out now. Middlebury Magazine is published by Middlebury College, a liberal arts college in Vermont. The illustrations were for an essay on summer reading. It was a real pleasure to work on these, and the magazine looks incredible - beautifully printed and designed. A big thanks to AD Pamela Fogg.

To This Day...
Excited about the recent release of this book from Annick Press - 'To This Day' by Shane Koyczan. I had the pleasure of being one of the illustrators who got a chance to illustrate a verse each from this fantastic anti-bullying poem. It was a thrill to be asked to participate, along with so many other talented illustrators, and to be part of something so positive.
From the publisher's website:
'Now this extraordinary work has been adapted into an equally moving and visually arresting book. Thirty international artists, as diverse as they are talented, have been inspired to create exceptional art to accompany “To This Day.” Each page is a vibrant collage of images, colors and words that will resonate powerfully with anyone who has experienced bullying themselves, whether as a victim, observer, or participant.
Born of Shane’s own experiences of being bullied as a child, To This Day expresses the profound and lasting effect of bullying on an individual, while affirming the strength and inner resources that allow people to move beyond the experience. A heartfelt preface and afterword, along with resources for kids affected by bullying, make this book an invaluable centerpiece of the anti-bullying movement. '

I have a few drawings currently showing at Alcove Gallery in Hamilton. It is a series of 6 pencil drawings based on various old sheds and buildings, most of which I go past regularly as I drive to and from my house. Thanks to gallery manager Lynda Wilson for asking me to show some works and for her great job in hanging them.

Riff Raff
I recently did an illustration for the cover of RiffRaff Mag, an arts zine focusing on the arts and creative community in my local area.
Riff Raff is a really great zine that is put together and designed by the talented Emily Russell, and it is always a fascinating read, filled with art, photography, poetry and interviews with lots of local artists. Well worth checking out if you can. Some of my work and an interview with me is also featured in this issue.
Thanks to Emily for featuring me and for all her amazing hard work in producing this labour of love.
